Although it’s been pulled from this week’s schedule, we still have information on how the Family Guy/American Dad/The Cleveland Show hurricane crossover was created.

Seth MacFarlane revealed that “It was something that Kevin Reilly brought up to us and said, ‘We haven’t really seen this kind of thing on television in a while; it might be kind of cool.’ ”, talking about the interwoven theme nights of 1980s sitcoms.

MacFarlane went with this as a crossover between the series over having all the characters visit each other to allow each of the episodes to really blossom, saying “There were talks initially of doing a crossover with all the characters from all the shows but it became a little bit of a conundrum because you have three different staffs, each of whom is used to writing three different sets of characters. This idea of an outside force that sweeps its way through all three shows seemed like a cool way to accomplish that.”

Chances are another one could be on its way, providing ratings with this arc are high, Seth revealed, as well as detailing his work ethic; stating “My philosophy is: If it’s something that could potentially ruin the show forever, then it’s probably something we should try. Shows live and die all the time and it’s better to go out taking some risks than to rest on your laurels and fall into lazy patterns.”

Four previews from this Sunday’s episode, “The Hurricane”, have been released via Fox’s YouTube account.

In an unprecedented ANIMATION DOMINATION crossover event, a storm hits the towns of Stoolbend, Quahog and Langley Falls. In Stoolbend, the Brown/Tubbs family tries to salvage what’s left of their vacation. Meanwhile, Cleveland Jr. shocks everyone with a proclamation of his religious beliefs.

Last week we told you about a possible June 14th release date for the Family Guy Volume 9 DVD set.

However, according to TVShowsOnDVD that date is incorrect, has been rectified and the set is now due for release sometime this coming Fall, though this is still subject to change.

Similarly, news of The Cleveland Show release has been updated to include a Fall release date as well.

We will keep you updated with information as it becomes available.

BroadwayWorld has revealed the descriptions for the final two episodes of the season.

Airing May 8th:

THE CLEVELAND SHOW (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) – “Your Show of Shows”

Another all-new episode features an original musical performance by guest voices will.i.am and T-Pain. When Rallo (Mike Henry) and his pals Bernard (guest voice will.i.am) and Theodore (guest voice T-Pain) perform in the school talent show, their rap about fiscal responsibility is not well-received by their classmates. Meanwhile, after Cleveland (Henry) gets his own cable-access television show, the reviews are less than positive so he takes some tips from the most successful daytime talk shows that appeal to women.

And, unlike Family Guy and American Dad!, The Cleveland Show’s season finale will air May 15th:

THE CLEVELAND SHOW (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) – “Hot Cocoa Bang Bang” – Season Finale

Emily Deschanel (BONES), Eliza Dushku (“Dollhouse”), Katee Sackhoff (“Battlestar Gallactica”), director Robert Rodriguez and Danny Trejo (“Machete”) make guest voice appearances in the season finale of THE CLEVELAND SHOW. Cleveland takes the entire family to a comic convention in an attempt to sell his comic book, “Waderman.” While there, Donna (Sanaa Lathan) is horrified to find out that Robert Rodriguez (guest-voicing as himself) is screening a Blaxploitation film that she starred in when she was younger, and Cleveland Jr., tired of Comic-Con being a playground for Hollywood to peddle their projects, gathers a band of geeks together to take the Con back to its true origins.

While Family Guy suffered a 9% drop in ratings from last week, it still drew the most viewers pulling a crowd of 6 million. Tied for second place was The Cleveland Show and American Dad! who each brought 4.7 million viewers in their respective time slots, American Dad! last night airing at 8:30 and preempting Bob’s Burgers for the week. Coming last was a repeat of The Simpsons which drew 4.15 million at 8:00.

Fox was second with CBS in the 18-49 demographic and fourth overall for the night.

Ten episodic stills from the May 1st episode, “The Hurricane”, have been released by Fox.

Cleveland Jr. gets along really well with Donna’s ex-husand Robert, which really threatens Cleveland. It doesn’t feel good thinking that Robert is simply a cooler guy than he is. In order to get the respect back from his son, Cleveland challenges Robert to face off in a “Cooplympics” to settle the score.
